I’m a digital marketing agency founder, and I recently had a client who was having some SEO issues with their WooCommerce store. They called me up and we discussed the problem, and I gave them some solutions.

The next day, I got a call from the client’s brother. He said that they were going to switch to Shopify because they thought it would be better for SEO.

I was a little surprised by this, because I had explained to the client that WooCommerce is actually a very SEO-friendly platform. I told the brother that I thought they were making a mistake, but he didn’t seem to want to listen.

This experience reminded me of the importance of talking to a technical person before making an SEO decision. Non-technical people often don’t understand the nuances of SEO, and they can make decisions that are not in their best interests.

In this case, the client’s brother had heard that Shopify was good for SEO, and he didn’t bother to do any further research. He just assumed that Shopify was the better platform, even though I had told him otherwise.

If the client had talked to me before making a decision, I could have explained the pros and cons of both WooCommerce and Shopify in more detail. I could have also shown them how to improve their WooCommerce store’s SEO.

In the end, the client decided to stay with WooCommerce, and they are now seeing some positive results from my SEO recommendations.

This experience taught me that it’s important to educate non-technical people about SEO before they make any decisions. I also learned that it’s important to be patient and persistent when dealing with non-technical people.
